I always have a tough time when people ask me to describe what energy work is and what it does — because it's difficult to explain something that most people can feel when they are open to it but doesn't follow the usual experiences and practices of our culture. Some people have heard of different energy work disciplines like Reiki, Quantum Touch, Energy Medicine (and more), and ask me if that's what I do. My best response to such questions is that I am an eclectic practitioner who includes bits of each of these and who strongly uses my intuition along with plenty of dialogue with my clients. I fully believe that each of us knows our own body the best and I trust my clients to help me to help them toward healing and health.
I love working with energy. While my first preference is to work outdoors in the shelter of the trees, Mother Nature doesn't always cooperate. I can bring my table and other tools to you, or you can visit my home energy room (pictured on this page). I also do a lot of long distance healing and support. This work is best done (for me) if I have a first name and location. I do not do this energy work without the consent of the recipient. My energy room has a heater along with blankets, for those who run on the cold side. It's my feeling that the best work is done when we are relaxed and as comfortable as possible. We can work with or without music (I have a variety of choices for a broad spectrum of tastes). I can also work with cleansing support (smudging and/or essential oils), though this room is closed off from the rest of the house so remains clear and fresh for those who have problems with scents. |

This room receives afternoon light through windows on two sides. There are candles for softer lighting when needed, as well as an overhead light when preferred. I, personally, prefer the softness of natural light streaming through the windows but am easily able to shift to my clients' wishes. There is a chair for visitors, or observers, if my clients wish to bring along a friend or support person.
I believe that energy work is sacred and to be practiced with the purest of intentions. I very purposefully set this room up for comfort, purity, safety, and healing. There are pieces of artwork present that reflect this intention, including an altar. On the table in the photo (at right), you can see my cleansing bowl (yes, it's a repurposed crock pot bowl... I heartily believe in recycle, reuse, repurpose). This bowl is surrounded by a variety of stones and crystals. I refill the bowl each session. There are 3 quartz crystals in the bowl to which I add salt from an ancient sea in Utah, then water. This bowl is used for cleansing during my work. I sometimes use crystals and stones in my energy work in order to boost or help direct certain energies. Because I do not touch the bodies that I work on, clients remain fully clothed. The more comfortable the clothing, the easier it is to achieve relaxation. However, I prefer for clients' shoes to be removed, so wearing looser footwear is beneficial. Beside this peaceful room, I have access to spaces in Washington Court House (OH) and Yellow Springs (OH), if those locations are more convenient. I occasionally make home visits as well. |
