Moms' Nourishing Altar
As I was finishing with the Dads' Spiral, a little guilt nudged in with a voicing, "But, what about the moms?" Since the snow gave me a day's pause, I was able to think out what elements I wanted in the Moms' Garden (though it's not quite a memorial since 2 of the moms are still alive and well, only my mother-in-law has passed on). The flowers and water were a given. I felt like it needed to be a nurturing and nourishing spot and knew that the flowers would be a treat for the birds and the bees (along with butterflies and others), and the water would be more than welcome.
The morning I was ready to start building this feature, as I was taking my shower (one of my very best idea formulator places) I wondered to myself about how to have the birdbath with the old field tile planters I'd already envisioned. Imagine my delight when I came down the stairs and saw this sink in the neighbors trash. I immediately got on my shoes and rescued said sink. After washing it well, I set it in its rightful spot and started building around it.
